On the 26th of October 2006, the World Motor Sport Council released the 2006 Formula 1 Calendar.

The season starts with the Bahrain Grand Prix as the Australian Grand Prix is pushed back to early April due to a conflict with the Commonwealth Games.

There will be 6 back to back races in 2006. Bahrain-Malaysia, Europe-Spain, Canada-USA, Germany-Hungary, Italy-Belgium and Japan-China.

There will be the usual 3 week break prior to the San Marino Grand Prix and the Turkish Grand Prix.

A number of previously allocated dates have changed. That was mainly due to the conflict with the Commonwealth Games in Australia and The World Cup in Germany. Click here for the previously allocated dates for 2006.
