Schumacher wins after starting second on the grid. He passed Button via the pits after the first stop. Button finished in second and after the first pit stop wasn't a threat to Michael nor was he threatened by Juan Pablo. Montoya too had a lonely race. Alonso had a poor start and was hit by Coulthard but managed to recover and overtake a number of cars via the pits. He had a tangle with Ralf forcing the German into a spin. Barrichello was stuck behind slower cars for most of the race and couldn't clear them via the pit stops. 16 cars were classified as finishers although Sato had an engine failure 6 laps from the finish. Ferrari, McLaren, Williams, Renault, Sauber and Jaguar finished both cars. Jordan failed to finish either of their cars |
