Schumacher wins the race after starting from Pole position. David

catch Michael. Rubens Barrichello finished second benefiting from excellent pit work and a number of retirements ahead of him. Heinz Harald Frentzen finished 3rd just ahead of Jacques Villeneuve after an exciting fight between the two. The race started under damp conditions with most of the drivers starting the race on intermediates and then switching to dry tyres. 12 cars crossed the finish line.
