Second Saturday Practice Session Report - Results

Jarno Trulli continued to impress in the Renault after setting the fastest time of Thursday, he set the fastest time in practice today. David Coulthard was second ahead of the 2 Williams' of Montoya and Ralf. The 2 Ferraris were 5th and 6th with Barrichello in front of Michael.

Now the Ferraris are around a second off the pace. Does that mean they were in Qualifying trim in the first session or they didn't really push this session ? We'll know this afternoon.

A number of drivers couldn't refrain from crashing despite the it being the last practice before Qualifying. First it was Takuma Sato (ended 19th), then it was Kimi Raikkonen (again! - ended 15th). Eddie Irvine followed (ended 22nd!) and finally Mark Webber (ended 20th). 
Michael Schumacher had a problem midway through the session and didn't return back out on the track for the rest of the session.

Jacques Villeneuve covered the most number of laps this session with 26 followed by Barrichello and Panis with 20 laps each. Takuma Sato covered the least number of laps with 3 while Irvine only did 5 and Mika Salo and Michael Schumacher only managed 7 laps each.
Overall, Jacques Villeneuve covered the most number of laps with 49 followed by Barrichello and Panis with 40 laps each. Eddie Irvine did the least number of laps with 17 laps each.

Trulli's time has already beaten the Pole time from last year by 0.001 seconds. Expect Pole time this year to be around 1.5 seconds faster than last year!

Qualifying starts at 1:00 PM local time. Our coverage will start at 12:45 PM local time.
