60 min: Session over. A number of drivers are still on fast laps.

59 min: Final lap and there is a lot of traffic!

58 min: Mika Salo moves back to 5th while Montoya moves into 9th. Michael Schumacher is currently in 11th place!

57 min: Trulli tops the timesheets with a time of 1:18.915. Superb!

55 min: 5 minutes remaining!

54 min: But Fisichella takes 3rd away from Ralf.

53 min: Ralf Schumacher takes 3rd from Salo. Button hits the tyre barrier!

51 min: At the moment, a second separates the top 10. It is close!

50 min: Top 10 - McNish, Coulthard, Salo, Barrichello, R Schumacher, Webber, Fisichella, Trulli, Button and M Schumacher.

47 min: And Webber is up into 6th with a time of 1:20.028!

46 min: Meanwhile Fisichella goes 6th with a time of 1:20.253.

46 min: Mika Salo improves into 3rd with a time of 1:19.940.

45 min: Allan McNish goes fastest with a time of 1:19.361. Amazing and we have 2 Scots at the too of the timesheets!

44 min: David Coulthard goes fastest with a time of 1:19.597 and is the first to better last year's time.

42 min: Michael Schumacher moves up into 5th with a time of 1:20.404

40 min: Panis takes 9th from his team-mate Villeneuve. He had completed a massive 52 laps today.

39 min: Top 10 - Barrichello, R Schumacher, Trulli, McNish, Salo, Button, Montoya, M Schumacher, Villeneuve and Coulthard.

36 min: No one has bettered the best time from this session last year. The top 2 are very close to it though and there is still over 20 minutes remaining!

35 min: Another crash, this time by Massa. He was 15th!

34 min: The 2 Toyotas move into 4th and 5th!. McNish followed by Salo!

32 min: Bad start for Raikkonen. It doesn't look as if his car will be ready in time to get back onto the track..

31 min: Takuma Sato moves into 15th with a time of 1:21.868.

30 min: Pedro de la Rosa improves to 21st with a time of 1:25.394.

29 min: Pedro de la Rosa is back on the track.

28 min: Top 10 - Barrichello, R Schumacher, Trulli, Button, Montoya, M Schumacher, Villeneuve, Coulthard, Panis, Frentzen.

27 min: Irvine crashes. He may have spun from Bernoldi's oil. He was in 19th. Now the second Jaguar is also damaged. 

26 min: Bernoldi in 20th stops on the track. Looks like an engine failure. 

25 min: Mark Webber just improved his time. He is currently in 15th.

23 min: Ralf Schumacher moves into second with a time of 1:19.953. Just 0.008 seconds behind Barrichello!.

21 min: Jarno Trulli moves into 2nd place with a time of 1:20.296. The Renaults are proving serious contenders here.

19 min: But his team-mate Nick Heidfeld takes 10th away from him!

18 min: Felipe Massa in the Sauber moves into 10th with a time of 1:21.683.

16 min: Raikkonen and de la Rosa have yet to go out on the track.

15 min: Villeneuve improves into 5th with a time of 1:21.086.

15 min: Barrichello is currently over half a second faster than anyone else!

14 min: Barrichello tops the timesheets with a time of 1:19.945. Villeneuve moves back into 9th.

13 min: Top 10 - Button, Montoya, Barrichello, M Schumacher, Coulthard, Panis, Frentzen, R Schumacher, Fisichella and Trulli.

12 min: Ralf Schumacher improves to 6th with a time of 1:21.351.

11 min: Button goes fastest with a time of 1:20.610. Barrichello moves into 3rd behind Montoya.

10 min: Montoya moves to the top of the timesheets with a time of 1:20.638.. Salo takes 9th.

8 min: Panis improves with a time of 1:21.633. Moves into 3rd.

7 min: There are no improvements apart from Fisichella. Top 10 - M Schumacher, Coulthard, Trulli, Barrichello, Frentzen, Villeneuve, Panis, Fisichella, Button and Raikkonen.

5 min: Session resumes after the marshals cleared the debris from Yoong's crash.

5 min: Session stopped as a result of Yoong's crash!. This is good news for Raikkonen and de la Rosa giving them more time for their cars to get ready.

5 min: Yoong crashes. He is out of the session. Massa spins but amazingly doesn't hit anything and continues.

4 min: And Fisichella improves again and moves into 8th. He usually does well on this track.

2 min: Fisichella sets a time of 1:24.450. Good for 16th..

1 min: Fisichella, de la Rosa and Raikkonen had their first sessions cut short and they would want to get back out this session. The problem for Raikkonen and de la Rosa is that their cars are being repaired. Fisichella is already out on the track.
