Ferrari First, Ferrari Second, Daylight … ho hum ………. Actually Monaco should present a great opportunity for close competition between 6 cars at the front. Unfortunately the first two will both be Red and the McLarens and Renaults will be fighting for third a long way back. Highlights of the real race will be the tussle for third between Jenson and Kimi, the tussle for P7 between the Williams and Saubers and Mark Webber's success at bettering his previous best position (18th). I don't see many surprises this time around. Massa is due for a win and JP needs to recover the high ground, the rest will be pretty much according to the trends. Will Michael go 5-2 up, probably. Will Coulthard recover from his 2-4 position, probably not. Will Yoong finally break his drought and get a win, possibly … as long as both Mark's car and the T car break on their first outlap, otherwise, no. Frentzen and Salo are pretty safe with their current standings (both 6-0 up) and Fisichella will go 6-1. In the middle order, Villeneuve will respond to his Austrian Also Ran to go 4-3 up and Irvine will tip the scales his way as well. Look for a very strong performance from Rubens and a last minute flyer from Michael (that autopilot must be fixed by now) taking the win off him. The controversy in Austria following the real race support event on Sunday surprised me. Team orders are a fact of life and have been since the first time two cars fronted up to a race in the same livery. Sunday was simply a perfect example of why the real race occurs on Saturday, not Sunday. Want to submit any comments you have on this section ? We'd love to hear from you. Fill in the form below.
