Championship Warm-up Session Report - ResultsMichael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello dominated
the Warm-up session for the Canadian Grand Prix. They were the only 2 to sets
times on the 1:16's. Ralf Schumacher was the closest driver to them setting a
time that was 0.707 seconds off the pace. David Coulthard was 4th with Enrique
Bernoldi and Jarno Trulli rounding up the top 6. This could indicate that Ferrari remain dominant in race trim even in Canada but it could also indicate that Ferrari are planning a two-stop strategy. Additionally, the temperatures were much lower than what they are expected to be during the race and the Bridgestones usually run better than the Michelins in these conditions. In a few hours time we'll know! Michael Schumacher suffered a rare engine failure during the session but as he was close to the pits, he managed to get back and take the spare car. A number of drivers spun but managed to recover. Giancarlo Fisichella covered the most number of laps with 19 followed ny Michael Schumacher with 17 and Takuma Sato with 16. Jenson Button and Ralf Schumacher covered the least number of laps with 9 while Felipe Massa only managed 10. all other drivers covered between 11 and 15 laps. Behind the 2 Ferraris and Ralf, the field is very close with less than a second separating 4th and 17th. It is promising to be an exciting race with reliability and race strategy to play a crucial role in this race. Race starts at 1:00 PM local time. Our coverage will start at 12:45 PM local time.
