First Saturday Practice Session Report - Results

It was another stunning display by Ferrari and Bridgestone this session and particularly Michael Schumacher who set a time that was over 0.8 seconds faster than his team-mate and more than 1.8 seconds faster than 3rd placed Panis.
Massa was again impressive in 4th ahead of Fisichella with Raikkonen ending 6th fastest and over 2.1 seconds off the pace.

Such is the superiority of the Bridgestone tyres, with the exception of Takuma Sato, all the Bridgestone runner were in the top 8.

The Williams team improved slightly over yesterday as Montoya was 11th and Ralf was 13th but that is over 3 seconds off the pace.

Michael's stunning time didn't help the Minardi team at all with both Webber and Davidson outside the 107% time that is needed to qualify. They must be hoping that Michael's time was set with low fuel loads otherwise they are both in trouble!

A number of drivers slid off the track but managed to recover. Towards the end of the session though, Jenson Button lost it and hit the barrier.

Ralf Schumacher, Takuma Sato and the 2 Minardi drivers failed to improve on their times from yesterday indicating they were running lighter fuel loads on their best laps yesterday (or they went very wrong with their setup today!)

Anthony Davidson covered the most number of laps with 18 ahead of Olivier Panis with 17. Michael Schumacher only covered 9 laps and so did his brother Ralf.

The Michelin runners face a very tough challenge today!
