Second Saturday Practice Session Report - ResultsDavid Coulthard sets the fastest
time of the session just 0.029 seconds ahead of Michael Schumacher. Rubens
Barrichello in 3rd was just 0.093 seconds off the pace. The Jordan pair were 7th and 8th followed by Heidfeld and Villeneuve to make the top 10. Jos Verstappen had an accident as his car suffered from a rear suspension failure, he was OK but will need to qualify in the spare as his car is not likely to be repaired in 2 hours!. Jarno Trulli managed to comeback and post a very good time despite only covering 5 laps in the first session before suffering an engine failure. Several drivers went into the gravel trap but recovered. Mika Hakkinen covered the most number of laps this session with 25 followed by Olivier Panis with 23. Jean Alesi only managed 3 laps while Pedro de la Rosa only covered 9 laps, Kimi Raikkonen only managed 10 and Enrique Bernoldi covered 11. Most other drivers covered between 15 and 22 laps. The top 10 drivers are within a second while the top 15 are within 2 seconds. At the back Jenson Button is last ahead of him is Jean Alesi (who had problems this session). Fernando Alonso continues to impress in 18th ahead of both Benetton cars. The top 6 drivers and the top 3 teams have already beaten the pole time of last year set by Hakkinen (1:10.410). Pole time this year (if the weather remains dry) will certainly be in the 1:09's if not better.
