Michael Schumacher continues to set the pace here at
Indy. Rubens Barrichello making up for lost time after missing both practice
sessions yesterday was second fastest just under half a second behind while
David Coulthard was 3rd fastest and 0.92 seconds off the pace.
Juan Pablo Montoya, Kimi Raikkonen and Ralf Schumacher make the top 6.
Fisichella, Irvine, Trulli and Salo make the top. Michelin is once again
strong here but not enough to unsettle the Ferraris.
Several drivers suffered from spins but they all managed to
recover. Takuma Sato though failed to set a time this session as he suffered
an engine failure on his installation lap.
The gaps between the drivers are still close. Apart from the
Ferraris at the front and Yoong at the back, the rest are separated by just
1.43 seconds.
Alex Yoong covered the most number of laps with 19 followed
by team-mate Mark Webber with 18. Sato failed to complete any laps while
Michael Schumacher only did 7 laps and Jacques Villeneuve only covered 8.
