60 min: Final lap but there won't be any improvements due to the yellow flags.

59 min: No improvements towards the end of the session as the yellow flags (due to the cars stopped on the track) prevent the drivers from setting fast times.

58 min: And Jenson Button stops on the track with a problem. He is in 13th!

57 min: Montoya who was sidelined for most of the session due to a technical problem has returned to the track only to suffer a failure and stop on the track. Session over for him. He is in 16th place.

56 min: Top 10 - M Schumacher, Irvine, Coulthard, Raikkonen, Villeneuve, Frentzen, Fisichella, Trulli, Heidfeld and R Schumacher.

55 min: Yoong spins and so does Irvine. Both recover though.

54 min: Jarno Trulli spins but recovers.

52 min: Jarno Trulli moves into 7th but Fisichella takes it away seconds later!

50 min: Jenson button improves into 13th with a time of 1:15.548

48 min: Heinz Harald Frentzen moves into 6th with a time of 1:15.136 and ahead of his team-mate.

47 min: David Coulthard takes 3rd from his team-mate with a time of 1:14.919.

46 min: Pedro de la Rosa responds to his team-mate's improvements and moves into 7th with a time of 1:15.304

45 min: Mark Webber moves into 13th with a time of 1:15.629.

44 min: Eddie Irvine improves in second with a time of 1:14.123.

35 min: Eddie Irvine jumps into second place with a time of 1:14.935. He is the first driver after Michael to set a time under the 1:15 mark.

34 min: Nick Heidfeld moves into second with a time of 1:15.260. Michael remains over a second faster than anyone else!

33 min: And Fisichella improves again moving into 3rd with a time of 1:15.420.

31 min: Giancarlo Fisichella improves in 5th with a time of 1:15.453.

30 min: Olivier Panis now improves into 15th with a time of 1:15.941. Webber improves into 16th with a time of 1:15.987

29 min: The drivers continue to spin. Both Panis and Button get their turn but both recover.

28 min: Top 10 - M Schumacher, R Schumacher, Salo, Villeneuve, Fisichella, Trulli, de la Rosa, Irvine, Heidfeld and Montoya.

26 min: Alex Yoong spins but manages to recover. He is 19th at the moment and over 3 seconds off the pace.

24 min: Mika Salo moves up into 3rd with a time of 1:15.421.

22 min: Michael Schumacher improves again with a time of 1:14.072. He is now over 1.2 seconds faster than anyone else!

20 min: Michael Schumacher back on the track.

18 min: Not many improvements at this stage although a number of drivers are on the track.

16 min: Nick Heidfeld takes 8th from Montoya with a time of 1:15.592. Frentzen is down in 15th place.

14 min: Juan Pablo Montoya spins but recovered. He is in 8th place at the moment.

13 min: Meanwhile Villeneuve's team-mate Panis moves into 16th with a time of 1:16.030.

12 min: Jacques Villeneuve jumps into 3rd from 16th with a time of 1:15.432. The gaps behind Michael are too small and that is why drivers are jumping up a huge number of places.

10 min: Top 10 - M Schumacher, R Schumacher, Fisichella, Trulli, de la Rosa, Irvine, Montoya, Sato, Heidfeld and Coulthard. Rubens Barrichello won't be taking part in this session either as his car can't be repaired in time.

8 min: Michael Schumacher improves in 1st with a time of 1:14.664. The times remain slower than what they were last year which is surprising.

7 min: Mika Salo moves into 13th with a time of 1:15.895. Michael Schumacher on a flyer!

6 min: Michael Schumacher spins but recovers. He is back on the track so Barrichello's crash in the first session isn't due to a major problem with the car.

5 min: Takuma Sato spins off and hits the tyre barrier. His session is over!

4 min: Ralf Schumacher jumps straight into second place from 17th with a time of 1:15.291. Jarno Trulli moves into 4th with a time of 1:15.529

3 min: David Coulthard improves his time in 10th place with a 1:15.766.
