Warm-up Session Report - Results

Rubens Barrichello sets the fastest time of the session ahead of Nick Heidfeld and Michael Schumacher. Felipe Massa was 4th ahead of Heinz Harald Frentzen and Ralf Schumacher in 6th and the fastest Michelin runner.
Bernoldi in the other Arrows is 7th ahead of Panis, Sato and Button.
Juan Pablo Montoya only managed 12th, Kimi Raikkonen is in 14th, David Coulthard in 16th and Jarno Trulli in 18th. All are running Michelin tyres and possible indicating a heavier load and thus fewer stops.

Rubens Barrichello is over half a second faster than Nick Heidfeld who is just ahead of Michael Schumacher. Massa makes it a complete Ferrari domination as the 2 Saubers run customer Ferrari engines.
Frentzen in 5th is a massive 1.5 seconds behind.
It appears that the Michelin runners will have to take a gamble on pit stop strategy if they are to cause an upset.

The 30 minutes was interrupted by a rear wing failure on Mark Webber's Minardi. Luckily he got out of it with injury and without damaging the car but as this is the 3rd wing related incident to hit the Minardi team this weekend, there will be doubts about them racing this afternoon.
Apart from this incident, Michael Schumacher's car stopped on the track 5 minutes before the end of the session with a mechanical problem.

Juan Pablo Montoya covered the most number of laps with 17 followed by Pedro de la Rosa, Jacques Villeneuve and Giancarlo Fisichella with 15. Ralf Schumacher covered the least number of laps with 9 while Eddie Irvine did 10 laps. All other drivers covered between 11 and 14 laps each.
