Championship Warm-up Session Report - ResultsMichael Schumacher set the fastest time
of the session over half a second faster than a surprise Pedro de la Rosa in
second place with Kimi Raikkonen in 3rd. The session was interrupted with Enrique Bernoldi in the Arrows crashing heavily and flames erupting from the back of the car. As the medical car arrived, Nick Heidfeld in the Sauber hit the medical car. Luckily no one was injured but the incident will certainly be investigated. The warm-up session usually provides a bit of
insight on how the teams may be going with regard to their pit stop strategy.
It appears as though Michael Schumacher was lapping with lower fuel loads and
so was Pedro de la Rosa, Heinz Harald Frentzen and Enrique Bernoldi. They
might be opting for a 2 stop strategy. Giancarlo Fisichella covered the most number of laps with 18 followed by Michael Schumacher with 16. Ralf Schumacher covered the least number of laps with 6 although it didn't appear that they had any problems while Takuma Sato only managed 7 laps as he continued to struggle in the Jordan setting the slowest time of the session. Race starts at 2:00 PM local time. Our coverage starts at 1:30 PM local time.
