30 min: Ralf Schumacher moves into 4th with a time of 1:16.558. Montoya improves to 5th with a 1:16.608. 

29 min: Ralf Schumacher had to abort his only timed lap when Bernoldi crashed. He will have one shot at setting a time now. 

28 min: Only 2 minutes to go and most of the cars are already on the track. 

27 min: Session restarted.

27 min: Session restarting shortly - Bernoldi's car is heavily damaged and caught fire at the back. It is unlikely that the team will be able to fix his car and therefore he'll probably start in the spare.

27 min: Session stopped! - This incident will certainly be investigated as to why Heidfeld hit the medical car.

25 min: The track is getting faster, Pedro de la Rosa moves into second with a time of 1:16.391. 

24 min: Michael Schumacher improves in 1st place with a time of 1:15.866. The first to go under the 1:16 mark. 

23 min: Mika Salo moves into 19th with at time of 1:18.693. His team-mate McNish is in 11th. Different stop strategy perhaps ? 

21 min: No improvements at this stage. 

20 min: Just 10 minutes to go and Ralf Schumacher who starts from 3rd on the grid has yet to set a time. Salo finally emerges from the pits, he is the only other driver without a time. 

19 min: Giancarlo Fisichella has completed the most number of laps so far with 11. He is currently 14th fastest. 

17 min: Top 10: M Schumacher, Barrichello, Coulthard, Montoya, Button, Raikkonen, Heidfeld, Massa, de la Rosa and McNish. 

16 min: Ralf Schumacher and Mika Salo are the only drivers not to set a time yet.

15 min: Juan Pablo Montoya jumps into 4th with a time of 1:16.949. Ralf Schumacher has yet to set a time.

14 min: Jenson Button moves into 4th with a time of 1:17.361. Raikkonen improves to 5th.

13 min: Juan Pablo Montoya on the track. Yoong spins but recovers.

12 min: Top 10: M Schumacher, Barrichello, Coulthard, Heidfeld, Massa, McNish, Fisichella, Bernoldi, Raikkonen and Trulli. Neither Williams drivers have set a time yet.

11 min: Rubens Barrichello improves and takes second with a time of 1:16.666.

10 min: David Coulthard moves into second with a 1:16.766.

9 min: Michael Schumacher sets the fastest time so far with a 1:16.377.

8 min: Rubens Barrichello is the first to set a time with a 1:17.828. Villeneuve is second with a 1:18.859

6 min: Nick Heidfeld decides to pit without setting a time. More drivers on the track.

5 min: Nick Heidfeld looks like the first to go for a timed lap.

4 min: Heinz Harald Frentzen is the first to go out again. He shakes down the spare Arrows. Michael Schumacher follows in the F2001.

3 min: Most of the cars are back in the pits. Drivers with spare cars will take their spare cars for an installation lap. 

2 min: Michael Schumacher is expected to be extra busy today as he runs both the F2002 (his race car) and the F2001 (his spare). All the cars have gone out on the installation lap. 

1 min: Heinz Harald Frentzen leads the pack.
