56 min: Interestingly, Michael Schumacher is the only driver to lap in the 1:15's, Ralf Schumacher and Giancarlo Fisichella are the only ones to lap in the 1:16's and the 8 drivers behind them are lapping in the 1:17's.

55 min: Felipe Massa is sensational moving into 4th ahead of his team-mate with a time of 1:17.081. Meanwhile Fisichella improves yet again with a time of 1:16.770.

54 min: We have a number of drivers who had their sessions cut short with Raikkonen, Barrichello and Yoong all spinning and stalling.

52 min: Giancarlo Fisichella is doing very well in the Jordan. He is up into 3rd place with a time of 1:17.040

50 min: Enrique Bernoldi spins but recovers.

49 min: Michael Schumacher goes more than a second faster than Ralf Schumacher and tops the timesheets with a time of 1:15.627.

48 min: Nick Heidfeld takes second away from Michael with a time of 1:17.095. But Michael is on a fast lap!

47 min: Takuma Sato and and Allan McNish have completed the most number of laps so far with 18.

45 min: Both David Coulthard and Michael Schumacher are on the track. 

44 min: Top 10: R Schumacher, M Schumacher, Fisichella, Bernoldi, Button, Massa, Sato, Montoya, Coulthard and Heidfeld. 

43 min: BAR appear to be struggling again. Panis is in 16th while Villeneuve is in 17th. 

41 min: The Toyota pair of Salo and McNish are in 11th and 12th at the moment. This is one of the few tracks that Toyota didn't test on last year.

40 min: Jenson Button is once again doing very well. He is up into 5th with a time of 1:17.533. His team-mate Trulli is back in 15th!

39 min: Giancarlo Fisichella moves into 3rd with a time of 1:17.324. Takuma Sato is in 6th with a time of 1:17.635.

38 min: Felipe Massa improves in 4th with a time of 1:17.574. Fisichella on a flyer.

36 min: Michael Schumacher moves straight into second place with a time of 1:17.189. That is half a second slower than Ralf. Alex Yoong spins and stalls!

35 min: And Michael spins as well but he recovers.

35 min: Rubens Barrichello spins and stalls, session over for him without setting a time.

34 min: Enrique Bernoldi moves up into second with a time of 1:17.327!

33 min: Rubens Barrichello is on the track as well.

33 min: Session restarted - Michael Schumacher and Eddie Irvine are the first out. 

32 min: Session stopped  - Current order: R Schumacher, Montoya, Coulthard, Massa, Fisichella, Heidfeld, Irvine, Bernoldi, Salo, Frentzen, Raikkonen, Sato, Webber, de la Rosa, McNish, Villeneuve, Panis, Yoong. Trulli and Button were on their first timed laps when the session was stopped. Both Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello have yet to re-appear on the track. 

32 min: Session stopped  - The cars are all back in the pits now, except for Raikkonen's car. 

32 min: Session stopped as the marshals are not able to move Raikkonen's car easily. 

31 min: It appears that Raikkonen may have had a mechanical failure. Session over for him. Coulthard goes off but manages to recover.

30 min: Top 10: R Schumacher, Montoya, Coulthard, Massa, Heidfeld, Fisichella, Irvine, Bernoldi, Frentzen and Raikkonen.

27 min: Felipe Massa improves with a 1:17.853 in second. 

26 min: Juan Pablo Montoya goes fastest with a time of 1:17.661. Heidfeld goes 6th with a 1:19.083. 

25 min: Kimi Raikkonen is also on the track. We now have a Williams and a McLaren on the track. 

24 min: Nick Heidfeld and Jacques Villeneuve on the track. 

24 min: Juan Pablo Montoya on the track. 

23 min: Felipe Massa on his first lap puts the Sauber at the top of the timesheets with a time of 1:18.360. Meanwhile Irvine improves with a time of 1:1:18.524

22 min: Eddie Irvine jumps into second place with a time of 1:18.552.

21 min: Enrique Bernoldi goes fastest with a time of 1:18.533. The Brazilian fans go wild!

20 min: Top 6: Frentzen, Bernoldi, Sato, de la Rosa, McNish, and Webber. Only 7 drivers have set lap time so far.

14 min: Takuma Sato improves with a 1:19.810 while McNish moves into second with a 1:20.550.

11 min: Michael Schumacher takes the new Ferrari to the track.

10 min: Mark Webber and Allan McNish also go out for the second time.

9 min: Takuma Sato returns to the track. He'll be the first driver to set a time this session. 

7 min: Michael Schumacher appears to be getting ready for his installation lap. 

5 min: Jenson Button emerges from the pits and so does Rubens Barrichello. Michael has yet to appear in the new Ferrari, the F2002. 

3 min: The cars are now streaming back into the pits. 

1 min: Almost all the drivers have gone out on the track except for Ferrari.
