Warm-up Session Report - Results

Michael Schumacher was in a league of his own following the Warm-up session for the Belgian GP. He set the fastest time of the session just under a second faster than Kimi Raikkonen in second place. David Coulthard was third with Pedro de la Rosa a surprise 4th. Rubens Barrichello only managed 5th fastest and was over 1.35 seconds slower than Michael's best time while Jarno Trulli made up the top 6.

Takuma Sato failed to set a time during the session after he spun out and hit the barriers on his first flying lap. He didn't return back to the track.

Juan Pablo Montoya and Giancarlo Fisichella covered the most number of laps with 13 while Takuma Sato only managed 4 laps before going off and Ralf Schumacher on covered 8 laps.

Michelin still seem to have an overall advantage with 6 out of the top 10 on Michelins.

While it is hard to read much into the times of the warm-up session, it is clear that Michael Schumacher will dominate this race unless he has some sort of failure or if he has a bad start. A number of drivers may be planning a two stop strategy and hence their relatively quick pace.

It will be interesting to see how the Michelin runners perform under race conditions particularly Kimi Raikkonen as this is the first time in his career that he starts from the front row.

Race starts at 2:00 PM local time. Our coverage starts at 1:30 PM local time
