Second Saturday Practice Session Report - Results

Michael Schumacher sets the fastest time ahead of David Coulthard and Rubens Barrichello. Nick Heidfeld, Ralf Schumacher and Juan Pablo Montoya make the top 6.

The track dried and the times tumbled. Fastest time swapped between many drivers but in the end Michael Schumacher topped the times with over half second to spare. The question remains though, how much faster can Michael go and how strong are the 2 Williams' here ? Qualifying will tell - hopefully!

The session was the most exciting of all the practice sessions here. As the cars managed to have some track time in the dry. The spins continued however with Sato, Massa, Yoong, M Schumacher and Fisichella going off. All of them recovered except for Fisichella who ended his session 7 minutes earlier than scheduled.

Alex Yoong covered the most number of laps this session and despite that he remains in 22nd and just under 6 seconds off the pace threatening his chances of qualifying this afternoon. Both Williams drivers covered 20 laps each. Felipe Massa only managed 4 laps while Michael Schumacher only needed 10 laps to set the fastest time. All other drivers covered between 12 and 18 laps.

The midfield is very tight with under a second separating Villeneuve in 9th and Mika Salo in 17th. Expect a close qualifying.
