Championship Warm-up Session Report - ResultsMichael Schumacher was again in a class of his own
during the Warm-up session. He was 0.4 seconds ahead of both his team-mate
Rubens Barrichello and Kimi Raikkonen. David Coulthard was 4th ahead of Ralf
Schumacher and Jarno Trulli. It appears that the McLarens race pace is going to be strong
and they might match Rubens Ferrari but they are unlikely to be able to stay
with Michael. Williams appear to be struggling although their warm-up times
have rarely been impressive. Ralf is over 0.9 seconds off the pace while
Montoya is 2 seconds off the pace. Giancarlo Fisichella went off into the gravel and got stuck there just after half way into the session. A number of other drivers also went off but managed to recover. It was good to see Allan McNish on the track following his massive crash yesterday in Qualifying. Michael Schumacher covered the most number of laps with 15 followed by Salo, Villeneuve and Sato with 13 laps each. Trulli, Fisichella and Yoong only covered 7 laps each. It looks that Michael Schumacher has no competition for the drivers. His only worry would be a reliability problem that could prevent him for taking the race and achieving a continuous run of podium finishes for the whole of the 2002 season. Race starts at 2:30 PM local time. Our coverage starts at 2:00 PM local time
