Michael Schumacher wins his 10th race of the season ahead of Kimi Raikkonen
and Rubens Barrichello. Jenson Button, Juan Pablo Montoya, Giancarlo
Fisichella, David Coulthard and Mark Webber make the top 8.
A few of the highlights,
Michael Schumacher and Ferrari yet again outsmart the competition and go
for a different strategy and win the race. Rubens Barrichello however
dropped a place and finished 3rd.
Kimi Raikkonen impressed in his attempt to keep up with Michael and
although he ended up behind Michael he did put him under pressure a number
of times which is a rarity this season. Equally impressive were McLaren
coming from nowhere to be the only team to give Ferrari some competition
at Silverstone. David Coulthard though was his usual self, driving a
conservative race and scoring a few points but nothing special.
BAR have once again shown poor race pace when compared to their
qualifying form. Button dropping behind the leading 3 cars while Sato
failed to score points.
Williams have yet to improve. Montoya only managed 5th which isn't too
impressive while Gene failed to score points again and that will ensure
Williams will replace him with another driver while Ralf is recovering.
Giancarlo Fisichella was impressive starting from the back of the grid
to finish in 6th place and that was not due to attrition but the actual
package and strategy. Fisichella's performance at Silverstone will help him
tremendously with his attempts to move to a stronger team. Massa's
performance on the other hand was pretty ordinary.
Mark Webber was also impressive finishing in the points ahead of a
number of drivers in better cars including Alonso, Sato and Gene. His
performance may help him make a move this season to Williams!
The performance of the Renaults was disappointing. Trulli crashing out
while Alonso having difficulty starting in the midfield.
For a change, the TV coverage was very good with a fairly even coverage
of all the action on the track and not just the front runners.

First off, I have
to agree with you on the TV coverage. Like I've been saying for a long time,
it's not always about the race that is taking place. It's about the race that
They show us. The mid-field is where the fun is. It's either that or the
in-car view of the leader. I like those shots of the leader from the cock-pit
when he's out in front, and just wringing the neck of the goose. That's fun!
Other than that, I don't get it.
One week it's Renault, the next week, they are no where to be found. And now,
Williams and their "Tusks" just look like another failed mutation.
And out of no-where, Webber squeezes the neck of the leaping cat, and gets
some points. Same with Fisichella and the Sauber.
Toyota looks like they are just waiting for the new car. And they don't even
sound like they're too concerned about testing it. Sounds like they're just
gonna throw it out there next race, and let the 2 drivers that won't be here
next year try and see if they can pull some speed out of it. And at the front
is Ferrari. The only one out there consistently. Which is why nothing matters
from here on in. Just the silly season. Who will end up where. Williams might
as well have guest racers every race, as well as Toyota and Jaguar, and
Everyone except Ferrari and BAR, because this season is meaningless now - John

Another great
strategy from Brawn/Schumacher. Talking about strategy, Renault's strategists
(are there any?) should take some lessons with Sauber's. The mild weather
played an important role though - Andre B - Brazil
