5 in a row for Michael Schumacher!
This may the best season yet for the German driver. Rubens Barrichello managed
to finish second on a different strategy while Jarno Trulli's amazing start
secured a podium for him.
A few highlights;
Once again
Michael Schumacher manages to take the lead via the pits and never looks
back despite having an cracked exhaust for most of the race!. Rubens
Barrichello was on heavier fuel load which explains his 5th place on the
grid. He managed to finish second but appeared not to be pushing Michael.
Was he told to hold his position ?.
Jarno Trulli's
superb start from 4th into 1st virtually guaranteed him a podium place
while Fernando Alonso moved from 8th on the grid to 4th at the end of the
race. Renault are now clearly the second best team behind Ferrari.
Takuma Sato
starting from 3rd ended up 5th which is disappointing and that could be
due to lack of experience. Jenson Button didn't impress either as he did
in earlier races despite finishing 8th after starting from 14th.
Williams had a
reasonable qualifying session but weren't strong in the race. Montoya
retired with a brake problem while Ralf only managed 6th and was having
brake problems as well.
Sauber did
well here and it is good to see them score points on merit. Fisichella
scored 2 points while Massa just missed out finishing 9th. Doing well in
Spain is a good sign that the team may be improving.
McLaren can
now be classified as being part of the midfield competing with the likes
of Sauber, Jaguar and Toyota. Shocking!
Jaguar and
Toyota didn't live up to their qualifying performances while both Jordans
and Minardis retired!

It sucked. RB is
the biggest victim at that race and that play at his 2nd pitstop was even
worse.. red, redder, redder - Al - Syria
Lack of Comment? I
was just waiting for Frank to explain why he can't get the cars to brake on a
track they do the most testing on..Ooohhh Wait a minute.. I know.. HE thought
they WERE testing.. that must be it.
Don't worry, it's Monaco next. Williams yearly revival. 1-2 Montoya and Ralph,
and all will be right with the world.....BIZZAROWORLD !!! - Tom H - USA

I think if they
would put Schumacher in just about any other car, he would eventually make
that car and team win. He has truly transcended the sport. That being said, I
don't need to hear that exclusively. And too often, while watching the
Speed-vision rendition here in the States, that's just about all we here
about. Especially from the American announcer. And they don't show much of the
rest of the race, just the leaders. Renault was fun to watch. Fernando was
funny to watch, with all that understeer. His steering wheel had 2 positions,
Straight, or fully locked.
I hear that Ralph Schumacher was in the race, but they never really showed
that part of the race. They only show Ralph when he's doing something stupid.
But they did show Juan cook his brakes. No shock there. BAR failed to show
up.
Toyota did what they have been doing. Panis was running in the top 10, and got
another drive through. daMatta was never in it.
As you say Mclaren is now very average, and Sauber is driving last years
Ferrari, which will give them a 10th place finish every week. After that you
have Mark Webber, Nick Heidfeld, and a host of Pay drivers. When Verstappen
comes back, I hope Toyota picks up Heidfeld.
I have a Qualifying solution. Have them qualify from a dead stop, just like
they start the race. 4 single lap qualifying, from a dead stop for each
driver, and take the average of the 4.

I think that Todt,
Brown, Montezemolo and Schumacher are in a journey to record their names in F1
history in a way that nobody will be able to surpass them. It is obvious that
Barrichello is a mere co-actor in this schema. RB will only win races when it
will be convenient to Ferrari and there is a lot of discussion about this
subject here in Brazil. People wondering why he accept this subservient
role.
Is he really wrong? He is driving the best car for the best team and
eventually Schumacher will retire. Let's hope he will break all the records in
2004 (7 more poles, a 6th in a row in Monaco, 12 winnings or more) and we may
have a fight in 2005 - Andre B - Brazil
Yawn - Bryan F
