Juan Pablo Montoya
dominated the race with his Williams BMW, with second place driver David
Coulthard over a minute behind, the rest were also rans. Pity that Ralf
Schumacher, Kimi Raikkonen and Rubens Barrichello all retired on the first lap
as we would have been able to see if any of those drivers had the speed to
match or even beat Montoya.

The incident
at the start, do you believe Ralf Schumacher was at fault ? Does he
deserve being demoted 10 places on the grid at Hungary ?.
Juan Pablo
Montoya dominated all the way and had no competition at all. Why do you
think Williams were so dominant on this track ?.
Michael
Schumacher raced with the 2 Renaults and David Coulthard and wasn't able
to do anything about Montoya. The Ferrari was strong in Silverstone but
wasn't here, why ?.
The tyre
problem Michael suffered, was that just bad luck or was it due to the fact
that Ferrari switched him to a 2 stop strategy with a very long third
stint ?
David
Coulthard finished on the podium for the first time since the Australian
Grand Prix and it was probably due to the 3 drivers who retired on the
first lap. Is Coulthard time in Formula 1 running out ?.
The two
Toyota's scored 7 points and equalled the total number of points they've
scored all season. Looks impressive and a sign of improvement but was it
?, had the 3 top runners not retired they would have probably finished
outside the points.
Jenson Button
yet again manages to score a point despite starting from 17th and being
pressured in the end by Mark Webber.
The
Williams/BMW/Michelin package looks very strong for the last 4 races of
the season. Can they get ahead of Ferrari and Michael Schumacher ? Who do

Q1 yes it was Ralphs fault but no he doesn't deserve that punishment, I
believe taking himself out of title contention was enough.
Q2 because they now have the best car in F1, get used to it.

Wow another great GP!
The unpredictability of recent GPs makes for great viewing and I like it! With
a start that took 3 of the top five drivers in the championship out I was
fully expecting the race to be restarted. But in the end I was actually glad
they did not do it.
But what a 'classless' (to paraphrase one Ross Brawn) move Michael made on
Trulli. Michael braked too late and could not make the corner and normally
would have had a real 'off'. As it was he put all 4 wheels on the other side
of the curb into the run off area, then has the gall to pass Trulli on the run
off! Isn't that like straightlining a chicane to gain advantage? And is that
not illegal? The stewards are worthless. In the end, Mikey got his just
deserts and Trulli while being passed by Coulthard at least got his first
podium for Renault!
Finally we may ask is 'Formula Juan' back? I'm not sure lets wait and see.
Ralf got shafted for Hungary by the FIA stewards who were blind to his
brother's antics. Go figure,... Dave W - USA
A totally damned race.
The race should have been restarted especially in Germany because Burti -
Schumacher accident in 2001 caused a restart for the race. Any way maybe it
was the last chance for Rubens to catch up.

This was a good race, but it gets a little boring when someone dominates
like JPM did. As for the start of the race, the two biggest mistakes I saw was
Raikkonen being a little too aggressive, and Ralph Firman just slamming into
the back of everyone. Firman has no class. What's he doing in F-1 ? Anyway,
Kimi obviously has the better launch control, as he blew by Barrichello, but I
feel that had he lifted a little, none of this would have happened. Yes Ralf
should have checked his mirrors, but he just went straight, and Rubens' just
went straight, and Kimi forced them both inside.
As far as Williams is concerned, they just have their car dialled in, and they
have the better tire. Of course it doesn't hurt to have 2 great drivers, and I
think JPM will win the championship, unless Ferrari has some huge gain.
I think Schumacher gambled on that pass he made on Trulli, and that's where
his tire failure began. What I see with Schumacher is a guy who has figured
out the new scoring system. I think he realizes if he goes third or better, he
wins the championship. If it was winner takes all, I think you would see a
different driver.
I don't think Coulthard is done. He is a class act. Just listen to him when he
does his podium interviews. There is a reason for everything he does.
As for Toyota, I think they're right where they're supposed to be. They are
faster than Honda, Jaguar, and the rest. They got a break from Ferrari this
week, But that's racing.
You're always going to have some retirements, and if your able to hang around
to the end, you can score points. I think the proof of their competitiveness,
was 2 weeks ago when da Matta was in the lead. Granted, Kimi knew de Matta
still had to pit, but he still couldn't pass him.
In three weeks I think you will see another track that favors Williams and
Renault, while Ferrari will have a struggle, and McLaren will be somewhere in
the middle.
P.S. I hope Jacques Villeneuve gets his deal ironed out. This sport needs
people like him and Eddie Irvine - John - San Diego, USA
Another great race even considering Williams/Montoya's dominance. Ralf was
a bonehead which his own words imply - foolish words to say he can't be
expected to concentrate on those around him. LOL. Considering what was at
stake for him makes it even worse.
Montoya/Williams were brilliant. The Michelins are good but the Williams is
the main reason and Montoya's skill/speed. Also, Williams were correct to 3
stop as Ferrari, Renault and the very disappointing Jaguar can attest. I think
this, plus a little offroading by Schuey, caused his puncture. Why these 3
teams didn't change to a 3 stop strategy, especially considering the heat, and
the speed of the Williams, is a mystery to me!
Toyota were again impressive and are probably best of the rest. Jaguar got
tactics wrong at last 2 races - the car seems to eat tyres. Webber kept pace
for a while then DRAMATICALLY fell off the pace! Jaguar seem to have taken a
step backwards somehow. Webber's first big test overtaking for points ended
badly too. Interesting little battle going on between Jaguar, BAR and Toyota
until seasons end.
Betting men should be putting money on Montoya for the Championship and even
more on Williams for the Constructors Championship - Bryon F - Australia
Incident at the start: the only one not to be blamed is Barrichello.
Raikkonen must be advised that the green thing besides the tarmac is grass and
is not suitable for driving over it. Ralf had plenty of room to his right and
should not go to the left.
Toyota and Coulthard inherited 3 positions and that's all. I can't understand
why McLaren insists with DC. I hope they are waiting for JPM or RB to join KR
in 2005.
Michael was racing with his brains but the move he made on Trulli might has
damaged his tire. Very good to the championship!!!!
Button is proving to be very consistent while Webber and Alonso are becoming
pretty ordinary now that there are huge expectations on their performances.
One last thought: the worst punishment to Ralf will be helping JPM to defeat
