Download the NewsOnF1.com | Other Topics Shame on Ferrari. Ferrari is 100% pure dirty team. What's the point if you race like this? I think FIA should thanks Ferrari for bringing up such hot issues and helping FIA to reduce cost for printing more and more F1 tickets. Nobody is going to watch their sport anymore - Tan PH - Malaysia HAS FERRARI LOST SIGHT OF THE REASON THAT THIS CIRCUS EXISTS, "ENTERTAINMENT" WHICH BEGINS WITH BUMS ON SEATS, WHETHER AT THE TRACK OR IN FRONT OF A TELEVISION AND IN TURN THIS VIEWING PUBLIC JUSTIFIES THE VAST SUMS OF MONEY INVESTED BY SPONSORS AND ADVERTISERS. THIS TYPE OF ARROGANCE SHOWN TO THE PAYING SPECTATOR, I FEEL, WILL BE THE ULTIMATE DEMISE OF THE SPORT??????? - Ian F - Australia Thank You Ferrari and Michael Schumacher for giving me a
reason not to watch and follow F1. That is until Schumacher retires. This is a
shame!!!! Ferrari is a team that currently destroys the opposition. It
can and should do whatever serves it best. Ferrari wasn't a team until
recently. Schumacher made it what it is today. He drove ridiculous cars for 4
years while untalented losers like Villeneuve and Hill won championships
(Hakkinen is obviously NOT among this pathetic group of drivers) But now it's
payback time. Since Senna was killed by the incompetent losers at Williams ,
it was obvious that Schumacher would win one race after the other with a good
car. He destroyed Hill on 95 with inferior equipment before he went to Ferrari
to drive their truck. Williams single handedly destroyed racing in the 90's.
Now everybody talks about Ferrari and basically says BS (I am talking like the
second-place-champion Montoya). The whole reason why Ferrari pulled this stupid stunt was to
secure the Championship and SATISFY THEIR SPONSORS. But I wonder.....How is
Marlboro going to feel about being associated with a team that has embarrassed
itself in front of the entire world. Ferrari, after this have produced a bad image for
themselves! This will be remembered by them all for a very long time to come.
Yes, Rubens should have won it but the dignity and the closeness of these two
(Michael and Rubens) at the end of the day really looks like something
positive to me!! But with Frentzen doing all the crap he ended up doing and
the big crash, it was an emotional and unforgettable Grand prix! Rubens / Michael, are you men or mice? Pathetic!!!!!!!! - Lee J - Australia I feel Ferrari broke the bad sportsmanship rule. If Mark Webber
had to take a penalty for ignoring blue flags (hence bad sportsmanship) I'm
sure Ferrari is guilty for "race fixing" and should be penalised.
They have obviously done it in the past and seem happy to do it in the future.
Its time the FIA stopped it before Ferrari and Michael Schumacher sinks the
reputation lower than it has ever been. I WOULD SAY THAT M. SCHUMACHER WOULD HAVE A HARD TIME GETTING BACK THE INTEGRITY AND DIGNITY HE HAS GAINED FOR HIMSELF AND THE SPORT, JUST BECAUSE OF ONE STUPID DECISION ON PASSING RUBENS ON THE FINAL STRETCH TO THE FINISH. MICHAEL SAYS THAT HE HIMSELF DISAGREED TO THE CALL OF HIS TEAM, THEN WHY DID HE FOLLOW IT, JUST THAT SIMPLE. I GUESS MICHAEL SHOULD LEARN FROM NOW ON THAT WINNING IS NOT EVERYTHING BUT ONLY IF DESERVING - Leonard K - Philippines Shame on Ferrari. Schumacher does not need that kind of help to win a drivers championship, although Ferrari's decision could suggest otherwise. And where's the sport? And what about the respect for all the Formula One fans around the world? I believe that if Schumi takes this year's championship, nothing will make him and us forget that he wouldn't get by himself. I remember the late Ayrton Senna, the best driver of all times, and all the other great F1 champions, but I can't remember any of them being champion based on that kind of team tactics: they made it by their very own talent. Again, shame on Ferrari! - Luis F - Brazil What happened at the A1-RING WAS ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL.
RUBENS HAD BEEN KICKING ASS ALL WEEKEND AND DESERVED TO CROSS THE FINISH LINE
1ST. Ha! Ha! Gotcha suckahs!!! The same thing has happened before. But why is it that nobody makes as much noise when Schumacher lets his then partner Eddie Irvine take the chequered flag in Sepang (1999)? At the end of the day, Schumacher and Barrichello are just pieces of chessmen played by the top people of Ferrari - HY - Malaysia The FIA should ban or at least amend the rules regarding the team orders.
What we saw in the Austrian GP makes a mockery of motor racing, of the spirit
of sportsmanship! It may be a team championship in one sense but how will
Schumacher be able to consider himself a champion in his own right if at the
end of the season, he is to win the drivers' trophy by virtue of the extra
points gained in the Austrian GP? It would not have been by his own efforts,
would it? His acute embarrassment at the podium says it all. It was an interesting race at the beginning with some drama
with the accident of T.Sato, and also excitement watching Villeneuve running
so fast with low fuel (I thought it was about time), but at the end things
were not as expected. M. Schumacher with that huge advantage on points. I
thought "Ferrari is going to let Rubens win this race", He deserved
it! but at the very last corner, You've got it! Business is Business! UN-FRIGGIN-BELIEVEABLE!!!!! You people at Ferrari are crazy! Look, I guess I can understand your reasoning, but, COME ON! I suppose that if Michael and Rubens were going for the championship, you would still ask Rubens to move over? Shame, Shame!! This is RACING!! Let them race!!! - John L - USA TO ALL OF THE BUMS AT FERRARI (WHICH IS ALMOST ALL OF THEM):
Giving Michael Schumacher this win at the A-1 ring this May 12, 2002, is
outrageous. LET IT STAND FOREVER IN THE F-1 RECORD BOOKS THAT MICHAEL, THE
BUM, SCHUMACHER DID NOT REALLY FINALLY WIN AT THE “A-1 RING”, HIS FINISH
AS FIRST WAS REALLY RIGGED AND SHOULD BE TAKEN AWAY FROM HIM. I feel that Ferrari's image took a beating as the decision was totally unjustified. It has made millions of Ferrari fans the world over ashamed that the Scuderia could make such a decision so early in the season - Vishnu S - India Michael could have shown grace, sportsmanship, and confidence in the team and year by following Rubens past the flag. This would have unnerved Juan Pablo, and cemented friendship with Rubens. Rubens knows he will at some time be asked to move over, but there is a lot of year left to do this if necessary. All the hugs by MS afterward are BS - Ed B - USA With that kind of finishing at A1 Ring, I don't think I wanna support Ferrari anymore ! It has become very predictable, each time Barrichello is ahead just before the chequered flag, he has to pull aside for Schumacher. I don't think I am alone - Azman TG - Malaysia What do you guys expect, this season at Ferrari is about
Michael winning his fifth in a Ferrari. If he doesn't win five he won't win
six, which is possible. Disgusting! Michael Schumacher establishes another record!
Now he has won all GPs, including Austria. This is what the statistics will
show and is what will be remembered. Ferrari farce. No, today's result is not open, fair racing
and the jeers of the Austrian crowd were spot on. I couldn't believe the
cynicism of that last corner. Yes, MS could possibly lose the WC by 4 pts at
the end of the season - but that's what the game is about, isn't it? Does he
want a tainted trophy and a flawed fifth title? This was a very clinical decision of Ferrari. Unfortunately it has scarred Michael in the process tremendously. Rubens won more than just the race today. Ferrari has not done any of their drivers a service today. The team would have gotten the same amount of points had Rubens been allowed justice. As a Ferrari supporter even in the worst days I just have no joy in what happened today - Johan K - Canada It is the F2002 Who is the Winner of Austrian GP, and
obviously its not the drivers special skills that took them to the chequered
flag. Sure, there were lots of times drivers were the real winners, but today,
it is just the F2002, and they have the right to do what they think is the
best to defend their claim to the championship. Jacques Villeneuve provided the most enjoyment in the race
today. I know he was on a light fuel load and all, but nonetheless this
provided us with something worth watching. I really hope Takuma is OK (which I
understand he is). Its a little worrying that that is the third time this year
Nick has made a similar error in judgement. I am also left asking the question
"what's with Kimi and Jarno?", how come they have both repeatedly
had mechanical failures whilst their team-mates have faired so much
better. Rubens Barrichello deserved to win the Austrian Grand Prix.
I strongly criticise the Ferrari manager for asking Rubens to allow Michael to
pass him and win the race. Isn't he a human after all? He didn't show any sort
of consideration to Rubens. I think he should be sacked from his position.
What he has done today really affect the image of the Ferrari team as whole.
Why should Rubens receive such unfairness? I really pitied him. We are not going to continue to get up in the middle of the night to watch a race if teams are going to fiddle the result instead of racing all the way to the finish line - Gordon R - New Zealand Ferrari has let down all the multitude of its fans big time
by what it did today at the A-1 Ring. This was something that was downright
shocking and unsportsmanlike and unacceptable even to a die-hard Ferrari and
Schumacher fan like me. I've just finished watching the race... sad sad day. I really feel Jean has done wrong here. The stupid team order has totally destroyed Michael's reputation. Rubens was destined to win and Ferrari took it away. The team has placed MS in a tight spot and well... he just HAD to obey, like Rubens. :( - Vash - India After watching Rubens dominate the whole weekend, including
the race, and then have to move over was disgusting to say the least. I don't
know what can or should be done about this, but it is unfair to everybody
involved, most important, us fans. If it were not for the millions of people
watching, the fans, the sponsors would not pay $2,000,000 for a driver to wear
a particular hat, and the obscene amounts of money they poor into logo
placement. Ferrari's official line is that they were protecting the
championship lead. Michael Schumacher has, today, destroyed any of the respect which I had finally developed for him. He has never been a sportsman and his move today shows that he never will be. I do not for one moment believe that he could not have turned down the "Ferrari orders" that he claims caused today's situation, in fact I believe that those orders came from him in the first place. He and Ferrari will often regret this move that they made today as the damage to their image is colossal as was shown in no uncertain manner by the crowd in Austria. At least the protagonists in the WWF try to make it look like the result was not fixed! I can only now hope that Schumacher will be plagued with mechanical problems from here on and that Rubens scores more points than him in this year's championship - Arthur W. - Brit living in the USA Other Topics Join 6 'n' Pole and see how your predictions stack up against the others.
