Heretic's opinions and predictions have always been of high quality and
well expressed. The above preview for the European grand prix was spot on like
many of his earlier ones. Keep up the good work. The Heretic replies: Hi Blitz, Flattery gets me every time. Thank you for your positive comments. I certainly looks as if both BAR and Renault have the potential to close the gap with Ferrari. BAR are obviously set up for the faster tracks, as you suggest, and Renault have a great mechanical grip chassis, which is beautifully augmented by their magical traction control on the slower circuits. Not surprising taking into account that Honda are supplying a lot of power while Renault will have to wait for further engine development. As we are moving into the faster part of the season most of my money is on BAR. Button has matured a lot and I think that he has what it takes to take Michael on. Sato is still having trouble with the occasional rush of blood to the head. Renault are unlikely to mount a challenge over the season but should be competitive on the slower circuits unless they manage to get more horses out of the engine and even then I wonder if their chassis can be set up for higher downforce. They may have to wait for the next chassis. It would be nice to see some pressure on Michael Schumacher – there is no need to put Barrichello under pressure, he seems to be quite capable of doing that without the help of others. The only thing is: Have we seen Michael under pressure? How much faster can the Ferrari go if it has to? Back to Top Loading
