I think you under estimate the McLaren. Coulthard just makes it seem
ordinary. And I think you over estimate the Ferrari and Blame the Bridgestones
too much. The Bridgestone clad BAR was down a lap, yes, but so was the Jaguar.
The Bridgestones may not be as good as the Michelans at the moment but they're
not that bad either. The Heretic replies: Byron, It is amazing to see how many responses we are getting that suggest that the Ferrari is not as good as they claim. I actually do not think that this is true. I believe that Ferrari did indeed make progress with their new car BUT that Williams and McLaren were not standing still either. It took Williams a long time to sort out the new chassis and BMW blaming them probably did not help either. McLaren obviously had a very fast car last year already but history has shown that they take very long to sort their problems out. If their new car is an improvement on the current one both Ferrari and Williams will have to watch out! I also feel that Ferrari designed their new car around specific tyre performance criteria that Bridgestone have been unable to meet (remember McLaren had the same problem some two seasons ago). BAR and the other Bridgestone shod teams are so low in the pecking order that they have to use what they get and they designed the car around the tyres, which will explain why they do not suffer the same degradation. Either way it is true that Ferrari, for whatever reason, do not look dominant and unless they manage to somehow fix their problems fast, they are going to struggle to maintain their lead in both championships.
