Over the course of this season I read and heard a lot of
commentators say that with Ferrari's domination this year the excitement has
gone out of F-1. I don't think the excitement has gone, just the suspense. As
long as Ferrari has a car running, it's a fairly safe bet that it will finish
on the podium and probably on the top step. I don't know what is so exciting
about watching a bunch of very specialized vehicles going around in circles
is, but I don't try to analyze it, just enjoy it. I have seen some fantastic
battles in the mid -pack this year. True, they were mostly for pride rather
than points, but that does not make them any less exciting. The Heretic replies: Thanks for your comments Jeff, The suspense has certainly gone out of the driver and constructor’s championships that is over. Now that Barrichello is finally allowed to race and team orders only apply after the last pit stop even Ferrari, way up front, is exciting to watch and the struggles in the middle of the pack are always good. Pity that coverage has a tendency to show the leaders most of the time. We at newsonf1, do understand why commentators lament Ferrari’s dominance (or historically any dominant team). Since the driver’s championship has been decided hits on the site have been declining steadily. Interest in this season is definitely waning Back to Top Loading
