Montoya made his own tyres! |

As much as I hate to say it, I believe you are correct about
the younger Schumacher; though he was only a thousandth off Michael in the
qualifying, in the race he was uninspiring. One almost felt that he DESERVED
the bad fuel stop! I wonder if he and Rubens had switched cars whether or not
he'd have even gotten close to the Brazilian; he certainly wouldn't have
finished second. To do so he would have had to pass not only Rubens, but JPM
and Villeneuve. And that would have necessitated about a four hour race. The Heretic replies: Jim, nice to hear from you again. I apologise for replying this late but my day job is interfering with my real job. Just because Montoya refused to have his tyres dictate his pace does not make me wrong. He fluked it! I have never seen anyone do that before. I will give you the point on Montoya. I should have said that apart from Montoya the race was decided on tyres. Kimi teaming with Montoya or Villeneuve in a no team orders situation will be worth watching, but after the last race we could easily see Kimi on the top of the podium in Hungary. McLaren are getting faster and so is Kimi. As I have the advantage of 20-20 hindsight, Renault did not do too badly in France. Trulli admittedly did not finish but Button made it into the points.
