Montoya is not a complete enough racer |

Dear Heretic, I can't say that I agree with your summation on the
Montoya/Coulthard incident. In this sport/(business?) you create your own luck
or welfare. At this point in the race I think his main concern should have
been to at least finish and hopefully in the points if possible. I just don't
think Montoya has the ability to drive according to the bigger picture which
is surely to score as much points as you can if you can't win. And he was not
going to win, that was for sure. He was driving an ill handling car due to the
incident with Ralph on the first corner and he was struggling with extreme
tyre wear. There is just no way he could have hoped to keep Coulthard at bay.
He should have let Coulthard pass and resumed the battle (if possible) once he
had better tyres. At least he then would have had a chance of finishing in the
points. The Heretic replies: Montoya has the ability to win races. He just seems to lack the ability to judge which one or when not to compete. It is only when he realises that determination and talent alone will not win races that he has a chance. The question is: Does he have the ability to strategise on the track? Back to Top Loading
