Mar.16 (GMM) Robert Kubica has explained his disappointment after achieving the highest grid position of his F1 career so far in Melbourne.
The Pole's second place, along with teammate Nick Heidfeld's fifth, also constituted BMW Sauber's best ever Saturday afternoon result, but 23-year-old Kubica was still not smiling when he left the paddock for his hotel."I pushed very hard (on that lap), with a lot of risk, and it did not pay off. There is a bit of difference with the (race) strategy, so that's why I'm disappointed," Kubica explained. He estimates that his excursion onto the artificial grass at turn-12 cost him three tenths, which if true would have seen him easily faster than pole sitter Lewis Hamilton. On his way into Albert Park on Sunday morning, meanwhile, Toyota newcomer Timo Glock said he was disappointed with FIA stewards for pushing him five further places down the grid for blocking Mark Webber in qualifying."I looked at the video and I didn't see anything too bad, and also Mark didn't complain about me, so I cannot understand it at all," the German said.
