5 January: Red Bull Racing announced today the signing of both Christian Klien and Vitantonio Liuzzi for 2005. Red Bull will decide after the preseason tests who will get to drive alongside David Coulthard at the first race of the season in Melbourne. The team may also consider swapping the seat between the two during the season.
Christian Klien drove for Jaguar last year and did a reasonable job given his rookie status. Vitantonio Liuzzi is the F3000 champion and has impressed the team in testing. Both drivers were part of Red Bull's Junior driver programme.

A statement by Red Bull read "The two rising stars from the Red Bull Junior Team have signed one-year contracts, with an option in both cases for renewal.
After the tests in January and February, the team management will decide which of the two will join David Coulthard in Melbourne for the first grand-prix race of the new season on March 6."
