What others are saying:
'chello is a good driver and good team
player. Ferrari is champs cos the play as a team and every body plays a
part. 'chello may not be in front but his team is winning though it will
be nice if he came second in the championship and the team can now
concentrate on that - Tony E - UK
Hold on a moment, Michael Schumacher is in his fifth season
with Ferrari he should be able to set the car up in his sleep. Rubens is a top driver that
deserves his place. Mechanical problems and race strategies sacrificed to help Michael's
title bid are the main problems. If Rubens gets the same testing time he should be able to
to learn the car and be more confident with the black art of setting the car up to suit
the conditions. By the way, did any one see the German Grand Prix???? 18th to 1st. Lucky
or damn good? Rubens kicked ass. Michael is good but Rubens is not too far off, just give
him time after all it took Irvine 4 years to win a race and everyone suddenly thought he
was World Champion material.
PS. Go Jacques. Now there is a driver - Robbie - Australia
I don't know much about Barrichello but I think he's good
driver maybe he's better in next race. I like Schumacher and Barrichello. I want them to
be the winners - Natt - Thailand.
As a Brazilian I don't think that Barrichello is a new
Senna or a new Piquet, but I am sure that he is not worse than Coulthard or Hakkinen.
Schummy and Prost are extra-serious as well, although I think they play dirty. Schummy
seems to be loosing control, if he had not pushed Rubens at that first curve (Austrian GP)
they would not have to break so hard and probably the final result would be better for
Ferrari. We should keep in mind that Ferrari is fully dedicated to Schumacher and
Barrichello's lap times are not so worse than his (although Barrichello's pit times are
most of the times embarrassing for the team) - Andre B - Brazil.
Can we really leave all the blame on Rubens Barrichello.
Ferrari are a team, they always seem to have a unpredictable strategy, e.g. last race
(Austria) Rubens was obviously carrying a lot more fuel than Michael at the start but
Michael was put out of the race on the first lap. Rubens still did come third, however I
heard a comment on how he could not make an impression on the two McLaren's when his fuel
load was a lot lighter. Well who other than Ferrari would know what sort of condition
Rubens tyres were in due to the fuel load on his particular setup, the car could have felt
uncomfortable for Rubens thus affecting his confidence in the car and ultimately his
speed. One must also remember that Michael is the best F1 driver, in the world and Rubens
will have to play a strategic role in Michael winning the championship. I would hate to
admit this (as I am a mad Ferrari fan), but McLaren does at this time have a faster car,
and if Michael was in it nothing could even touch him. Michael's driving skill and
Ferrari's strategy is what is keeping Michael in the lead and if Ferrari can improve the
car a little more maybe the strategy could allow Rubens to show his full potential. In
summary we should give Rubens more time and if then there is no change in his performance
lets give another driver a go in a Ferrari, say Button or Salo as they are, they would
either take the bull by the horns or get stomped on in a team like Ferrari -
Graham - Australia.
No match for Schumacher, but better than Irvine. He doesn't
have the mathematics intuition who made Schumy Numero Uno, but he has the need and
philosophy of the winner. He was number one with Stewart but now is Secundo in Ferrari
team. Is hard but sometime he'll be a surprise for all McLaren fans - Marion -

Barrichello is doing an awful lot better than he was last
year in the Stewart so I don't see why he should be complaining. He really does have to
get cracking however or otherwise he could be dumped in favour of an Italian (possibly
Fisichella) when Schumacher leaves/retires - Adam B - Australia
As shown in the Friday's practice (Austrian GP), Rubens
really seems to be struggling to maintain good form. Although he started off well, he was
only able to make 7th place. He sounds quite confident with the car, but he himself is the
opposite of Michael's cockiness. He will need to watch himself- despite his good position,
if he drops off, it will happen very quickly, especially with many lower-ranked drivers
doing surprisingly well - Callista - Australia
not only Barrichello , but nobody can match Schumacher,
he's a strong driver, the best in the F1 history - Emile - Lebanon
I think it is Ferrari that you should look at and not
Rubens. Ferrari have got one driver and that is Michael Schumacher, everything is built
around him so naturally the other driver gets less attention and thus the results are not
even close. As far as I am concerned, Rubens has been very impressive in his first year at
Ferrari and is doing better than what Irvine did last year despite spending 4 years at
Ferrari. I just hope that Barrichello does get equal treatment, he is certainly up to it -

Disappointing he is, but I think he brought it on himself.
If he said at the beginning of the season that he will use this year to adjust to the
team, everyone would excuse him. But since he signed with Ferrari, he did not stop talking
about winning and equal status. Now that is hurting him as he is now forced to help
Michael win the championship. I also think that he blames the setup of the car a lot, sure
a lot of drivers do that but not almost everytime. Maybe he will do better next year? -

Rubens may win a race or two if there was only a couple of
cars entered!!! other than that, I could do a lot better. Besides... David C. is going to
win the drivers championship. What makes you think that I'm a McLaren fan??? -
Alan B. - Australia
NO WAY, no one can beat MICHAEL - Miriam C. -

Barrichello has proven a major disappointment. While
Michael disappears off into the distance Barrichello has failed to keep pace. Being a
racing driver is more than just being fast when the setup is right. Its being able to set
up a car and drive at 10+ tenths when its not right. Michael does it superbly (well - He
used to)- Barrichello can't.
Few (any?) drivers can go head to head with Schumaker but
Rubens talked the talk. He is running out of chances to walk though - Geoff H -
