Why is it when Ferrari wins, the comment is
always either by luck, by default etc... (Reference Heretic

Why can't you accept that
Ferrari has better cars that day and MS is a good driver? But when
McLaren wins, they drive a good
race????? Please be more objective! - Li L. Singapore
The Heretic replies:
Firstly, I am as hard
on McLaren and their drivers as I am on Ferrari. In fact I cannot remember
ever giving unqualified credit for a win if it has been by default.
There is no denying that Michael Schumacher is overall the best driver out
of those that are in a position to compete (it is very hard to compare him
to the Buttons and Raikkonens as they just do not have the car to prove
their point) but if McLaren did not screw up at the start again he may not
have won. Had Hakkinen not retired Barrichello may not have finished in
second. You do not think that is lucky?
Coulthard has finished in the points in every race so far this year.
Somehow that is not pure luck and seeing that he does not seem to be
consistently faster than Ferrari or Williams and the rest, I think that is
an achievement. Hakkinen on the other hand has been totally unimpressive
but at Monaco he was faster than Barrichello.
In Monaco Ferrari was more reliable and Schumacher is fast almost
everywhere. There I have said it.
But you are not going to get me to say that Ferrari is fastest or that
Barrichello is competitive because it is unlikely that either or both of
these statements are true.
