Some time ago I decided never to submit my comments to Your site but I can't take it anymore. I didn't hide the fact I'm a Ferrari fan but I m not a fanatic. I have my experience in racing, my involvement in Ferrari and Alfa Romeo business but I'm a fair sportsman and I can Not tolerate this antiferrari and antiScumacher point of view. Let's see how many pole positions Ferrari had and how many McLaren. Did you remember if Michael was 0.4sec behind McLaren aprox 75% he won. Hakkinen is good, one of the best drivers in F1 but the package includes a McLaren. Schumacher is one of the best drivers in F1 history (without a Ferrari). McLaren is a fast and very powerful car, but in mixed race track can't handle big difference of load, speed, heavy braking (see USA GP). On the other hand I think they have the best aerodynamics and chassis in F1. Some time ago I told you Ferrari was faster in a straight line but McLaren was faster under braking. Seems like Ferrari have a better package (including drivers) than McLaren even when they have a good engine and better aerodynamics. But you forgot Williams and BMW engines and Honda. Next year will be a lot of surprises, Jacques, Button, Ralf, even Alesi will have the benefit of better packages. It will be tough for Michael, Mika & comp. And regarding David, I still think he is a McLaren Irvine, a bait. Thank You very much for Your time and I hope You'll find the power of impartiality. Thanks again - Marian - Romanian living in the USA The Heretic replies: Marian, You do not need to justify your support or views. The results speak for themselves: Schumacher has won the championship and Ferrari are 3 points away from winning the constructor's championship. What a victory! McLaren have had the best car for all of the season (except for the early part when reliability was a problem) but that was not good enough - the whole team wins races - not just the car or driver. Winning is about winning and Ferrari have certainly done that. You are absolutely right - next year will be another story, but that is racing. Schumacher/Ferrari made history. Back to Top |
