AGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!

It makes me sooooo MAD!

Michael Schumacher was right behind Senna as he ploughed into the wall at the tamburello that tragic day at Imola. He went on to win and made a very controlled and sensible statement to the world. Now he attempts to feign a breakdown in a press conference and people use the fact that he'd equaled Senna's record as an excuse for this.

He wasn't crying. Rewind your video, there wasn't a tear in sight and if there was they were pure Crocodile tears.

Why?

I'm sure we can all remember Barrichello blubbing on the podium at Hokenheim. Whilst being far more convincing it also endeared him massively to the Tifosi. Schumacher has never grabbed the hearts of the Tifosi and he knows that. In Italy they still sell more Alesi/Ferrari products than Schumacher gear even now!

If he was really that cut-up he would have been in tears much sooner after the race and he wouldn't have had to hide his eyes. He's won the Italian GP before in a Ferrari and he's made bigger comebacks towards the end of world championships. What he did was yet another cleverly managed stunt to manipulate the situation. Just like pulling onto the racing line in Austria with a wreaked car. Just like running into Coulthards pits after their altercation in SPA '98, when the accident was clearly his fault. Just like ramming into Hill and Villeneuve when fighting for the championships of '94 and '97. He knew what he had to do if they tried to go by.

The sad fact of it all is that he's yet again managed to pull the wool over all the journalists eyes. This man is a Proven cheat. He flaunts many of the drivers codes of conduct to suit himself. His '94 WDC is clouded in scandal due to Benetton's consistent cheating on a number of issues. He continually plays mind games with his opponents and often with the press as well. Yet he is often excused all these activities through his talent alone. However he is yet to win a WDC in 5 years at a time when he is supposed to be dominating the sport...well at least thats what all the so called F-1 experts say.

I am not disputing that Michael cares passionately for Formula one, I do myself and I'll never drive for Ferrari. I'm not disputing that he's not the best driver of the present Era, i argue that this is yet to be proven as he won't allow a teammate to race him. I'm not even going to argue that he's a bad person. But i will argue that his breakdown was not genuine and that everything with Schumacher has another agenda.

Do not be sheep everyone, question what you see in F-1 at all times. The standard Journalist stock in trade statements and views are not always the truth! - Dom - England

The Heretic replies:

I can't bring myself to agree with you.

Not because Schumacher, or any driver for that matter, is always totally honest with the press.

Not because it was not good publicity and especially endearing to the emotional Latinos. And who knows maybe there are more Schumacher t-shirts on the street in Italy.

Not because it didn't really emphasised his achievement. By the time the interview was over there were not many viewers and fans that would forget this remarkable achievement.

Not because he didn't take Senna's death calmly.

But because he is German. Germans regard crying in public as worse than wetting your pants in public. Germans regard bursting into tears as something to be ashamed of if it happened in front of your family, in front of the world would be unthinkable.

Without the Teutonic upbringing I can see it, maybe, but big boys don't cry in Germany.
