Hello my friend,

I enjoy reading your articles, and agree with most of what you say. I wanted to tell you however that I have noticed a preference to the McLaren team. I would like to see a little bit of more fairness in your team appreciations.

I am a long time former McLaren fan, now I am Ferrari, and I couldn't say which is the fastest team. I think that it's all up to the drivers now, and my oppinion is that MS is the best driver, today.

Talk about reliability? Hasn't that been a constant problem for DC? I remember at least three GP's that he has experienced gearbox and radio problems. I think Mika had that in Monaco, too. Now some teams have consistent problems, (Jordan and Jaguar for instance) , that I think can definitely can be called reliability issues.

So, I believe reliability is relatively an issue in all teams, things just break, including legs. Remember MS last year at Silverstone that cost him his championship chances?

I don't think Ferrari has sacrificed reliability to "catch" McLaren, but I agree that they must be worried, after all anything can happen in F1 and MS still has to convince he is unbeatable by winning two or three more races.

Finally, I am curious to know who the manufacturers of the different components of the F1 teams are, (engines, suspension, electronics, chassis, and so on). Could you prepare something on this subject?

Kind regards,
Esteban P - Ecuador

The Heretic replies:

I wish you were right!

I personally would like to see Ferrari win - if only because it will be good for the sport.

But I still believe that McLaren is just a little faster than Ferrari and that Ferrari are forced to push just a little harder to stay in touch. Schumacher makes a difference but he needs engines that do not blow.

McLaren seem to have overcome their reliability problems - they seem pretty bullet proof now. Let's hope they get their share of problems too.
