Rubens Barrichello grabs his second Pole position of the season ahead of Ralf Schumacher. Michael Schumacher who dominated for most of the weekend only managed 3rd ahead of Juan Pablo Montoya and Nick Heidfeld. Kimi Raikkonen rounds up the top 6. 
Massa, Coulthard, Panis, Salo, Frentzen, Bernoldi, Button, McNish, Fisichella, Trulli, Villeneuve, Sato, de la Rosa, Irvine, Webber and Yoong make the rest of the field.

60 min: Kimi Raikkonen takes 6th splitting the Saubers 

60 min: Juan Pablo Montoya just manages to take 4th from Heidfeld. Great effort given all the drama. 

60 min: Rubens improves again with a time of 1:08.082. Ralf Schumacher doesn't improve. 

59 min: Michael Schumacher improves his time but remains third. Ralf on his flyer! 

58 min: Barrichello goes off trying to avoid Salo. Michael not fast enough on his first split! 

57 min: Montoya is called for scrutineering. Terrible luck. He is in 7th! 

56 min: Barrichello on the track. He is currently holds provisional pole. Michael goes out as well. 

56 min: Both Michael and Rubens have 6 laps to go but there won't be enough time! 

55 min: Michael Schumacher doesn't appear happy either as he switches to the spare car! 

55 min: Montoya improves into 7th with a time of 1:09.556. He is not happy and has 1 run left. 

54 min: Top 10 - Barrichello, R Schumacher, M Schumacher, Heidfeld, Massa, Coulthard, Panis, Raikkonen, Salo and Frentzen. 

53 min: Too many drivers with laps, there will be a lot of traffic in the final minutes of the session. 

52 min: Michael Schumacher doesn't improve and remains in 3rd. 

51 min: Michael Schumacher is slower than Barrichello and Ralf on his first 2 sectors! 

51 min: Montoya is back on the track. He is in 10th and having a bad time so far! 

50 min: Nick Heidfeld goes 4th while Massa is 5th. Great work from the Sauber team. 

49 min: Ralf Schumacher goes second with a time of 1:08.364. That is competitive. Michael on the track.

48 min: Ralf Schumacher starts his 3rd run! 

47 min: Montoya went for a second lap but didn't improve. 

46 min: Mark Webber qualifies. He is in 21st with a 1:11.388. Not too far from de la Rosa in 20th! 

46 min: Montoya moves into 10th with a 1:09.765. 

45 min: Mika Salo moves into 7th. Montoya finally on a flying lap! 

44 min: Montoya and Button yet to set a time. Webber outside the 107%. 

43 min: Top 10 - Barrichello, M Schumacher, R Schumacher, Coulthard, Massa, Raikkonen, Bernoldi, Heidfeld, Salo and Button. 

42 min: Felipe Massa moves into 5th with a time of 1:09.447. 

41 min: Rubens Barrichello improves in first with a time of 1:08.261. 

40 min: Michael Schumacher goes second with a time of 1:08.859. Barrichello is going for a second lap!  

40 min: Michael Schumacher hits traffic. Meanwhile Barrichello takes provisional pole with a 1:08.676. 

39 min: Michael Schumacher flying! 

39 min: Ralf Schumacher grabs provisional pole with a 1:09.354. He made a mistake in the 3rd sector. 

38 min: Montoya pits again without setting a lap time. Meanwhile Ralf Schumacher is flying! 

37 min: Villeneuve takes 9th with a 1:10.672. Michael on track. 

37 min: Villeneuve looks like improving ... 

36 min: Juan Pablo Montoya is also on the track. He has yet to set a time. 

35 min: Jacques Villeneuve is on the track. He is in 11th 

32 min: Still no one on the track. Each driver is waiting for another driver to do the cleaning of the track for them!! 

30 min: No one out yet but they will have to go out soon. There is under 30 minutes to go and some drivers have yet to set a time! 

29 min: Session restarted. 

29 min: Red Flag - Of those who set times so far, only Coulthard, Raikkonen, Salo, Sato and Irvine have set times faster than their best times from this morning practice sessions. 

29 min: Red Flag - Trulli will need to qualify in the spare car. It also seems that Montoya will be doing the same as he aborted his run early in the session.  

29 min: Red Flag - At the moment, the marshals are trying to clean the track from the oil from Trulli's car.  

29 min: Red Flag - Current order: Coulthard, Raikkonen, R Schumacher, Heidfeld, Salo, McNish, Panis, Bernoldi, Sato and Irvine.
Villeneuve, de la Rosa, Yoong and Webber are the only other cars to set competitive times.
Yoong is the only driver to have done two runs.  

29 min: Frentzen spins. The session is stopped due to oil on the track from Trulli's car. 

29 min: Barrichello slows down while avoiding Trulli who had an engine failure.  

28 min: Nick Heidfeld moves into 4th with a time of 1:09.735. That is slower than his best in the morning. Barrichello on track. 

27 min: Felipe Massa and Giancarlo Fisichella both lose it on their flying laps but recover. 

27 min: Mika Salo takes 4th from his team-mate with a 1:09.752 and not too far from Ralf! 

26 min: David Coulthard takes provisional pole with a 1:09.413. Allan McNish goes 4th with a 1:10.067. 

25 min: Enrique Bernoldi goes second with a 1:10.519. But Raikkonen takes 1st from Ralf with a 1:09.643. 

24 min: Ralf Schumacher takes provisional pole with a time of 1:09.648. That is slower than his best time this morning. 

23 min: Ralf Schumacher flying!. Raikkonen on track too. 

22 min: Villeneuve goes second with a time of 1:10.925. Over a second slower than this morning. 

22 min: Villeneuve slightly faster than Sato in the first sector. 

21 min: Ralf Schumacher and Enrique Bernoldi also go out. Expect a flood of cars now! 

21 min: Jacques Villeneuve is on the track. 

20 min: It looks as if Montoya has a problem on his car. The mechanics are working on the spare for him!

19 min: Takuma Sato goes fastest with a time of 1:10.841. That is better than his time this morning.

18 min: Yoong spins!. Sato on track

17 min: Montoya pits without setting a lap time. He loses one of his allocated 12 laps. Yoong starts his flying lap.

16 min: Alex Yoong come out as well.

16 min: Juan Pablo Montoya on the track. A bit early for him!

15 min: Track temperature has risen to 30 degrees while the air temperature is at 23 degrees.

14 min: Mark Webber pits and there is no action at this stage!

12 min: Mark Webber sets a time of 1:13.794. Almost 2 seconds slower than his best in the morning!

11 min: Mark Webber starts his flying lap. He was 21st this morning and it will be very hard for him to get any better than that.

10 min: Mark Webber is the first to emerge!

7 min: No one on track yet. The longer they stay in the pits, the busier it will get later in the session as everyone would want to make their allocated 12 laps!

5 min: The pole time from last year was a 1:09.562 by Michael Schumacher. Michael this morning set a best time of 1:08.433. How much faster can he go ? A high 1:07 ?

The Michelin runners where off the pace on Friday morning yet bounced back in the afternoon. Expect something similar to happen during Qualifying. And if it does, we'll have an interesting session. Otherwise the 2 Ferraris will be way ahead of the rest. Session starting in 5 minutes.

Michael Schumacher dominated this morning practice sessions and he is expected to be very strong in Qualifying. Only higher temperatures and better grip may allow the Michelin runners to get close. Session starting in 10 minutes.
