44 min: Jenson Button continues to be the best of the rest setting a time of 1:37.609. Trulli is in 15th!

43 min: A lot of cars on the track. No improvements so far in the top 6 and the order remains: Montoya, Raikkonen, R Schumacher, Barrichello, Coulthard, M Schumacher.

41 min: Felipe Massa moves back into the top 10 with a time of 1:38.301 in 9th place.

40 min: The 2 Ferrari's are on the track. 5 minutes to go.

39 min: Mika Salo moves into 10th with a time of 1:38.366.

38 min: Allan McNish improves into 16th with a time of 1:39.349.

36 min: Problems again for Frentzen (currently in 12th). His car has smoke coming out of it as he returns to the pits.

35 min: Ralf Schumacher is on the track. He is in 3rd place just over a tenth off the pace.

34 min: Top 10: Montoya, Raikkonen, R Schumacher, Barrichello, Coulthard, M Schumacher, Button, Fisichella, Heidfeld and Bernoldi.

32 min: Nick Heidfeld moves into 9th with a time of 1:38.320.

31 min: Michael Schumacher has only covered 10 laps compared with over 15 for his direct rivals.

30 min: It looks like we are set to have a thrilling qualifying session. At the moment the top 3 teams occupy the top 6 places with under half a second separating them!

29 min: Coulthard is off and he is stuck in the gravel. Session over got him. He is currently in 5th place.

28 min: Rubens Barrichello improves with a time of 1:36.910. He is 0.354 seconds off the pace.

27 min: Kimi Raikkonen moves into 2nd with a time of 1:36.648. Villeneuve spins but recovers.

26 min: Villeneuve improves a bit into 17th while Felipe Massa improves into 10th.

25 min: Takuma Sato moves into 14th with a time of 1:39.116.

24 min: Fisichella takes 8th from Bernoldi.

23 min: Webber seems to be coming to grips with the track. He is now up in 18th ahead of Salo, Villeneuve, Yoong and McNish!

22 min: Enrique Bernoldi moves into 8th. The Arrows is fast but they need to work on the reliability.

21 min: Top 10: Montoya, R Schumacher, Barrichello, Coulthard, M Schumacher, Raikkonen, Button, de la Rosa, Fisichella and Massa.

20 min: Only 2 drivers in the top 8 are on Bridgestones. It appears that the hot track favours the Michelins. 

19 min: Michael Schumacher improves his time but remains in 5th with a 1:37.045. Just under half a second off the pace. 

18 min: Pedro de la Rosa moves into 8th!

18 min: Michael Schumacher emerges from the pits. He is back in 5th place at the moment.

17 min: Juan Pablo Montoya tops the times with a 1:36.556. Sato takes 11th.

16 min: Alex Yoong responds and moves into 19th ahead of McNish, de la Rosa and Webber! Montoya flying!

15 min: Felipe Massa is impressive. He moves into 9th.

14 min: Top 10: R Schumacher, Barrichello, Coulthard, M Schumacher, Raikkonen, Montoya, Button, Fisichella, Trulli and Massa.

13 min: Rubens Barrichello spins but recovers. Montoya on the track.

12 min: Eddie Irvine improves into 18th while Mark Webber takes 21st from his team-mate Alex Yoong.

10 min: Jarno Trulli takes 9th away from Frentzen. Massa moves into 10th!

9 min: Eddie Irvine moves into 20th ahead of Alex Yoong!

8 min: Massa takes a trip through the gravel but recovers. He is currently in 11th.

7 min: David Coulthard moves into 3rd with a time of 1:36.976. Only 0.002 seconds slower than Barrichello.

6 min: Bernoldi improves his time with a 1:39.202 right behind his team-mate.

4 min: Ralf Schumacher goes fastest on his first timed lap with a 1:36.689.

3 min: Frentzen moves straight into 8th place with a time of 1:39.149.

2 min: The sun is actually out. This will increase the track temperature and we should be able to see how the tyres compare.
