GP - 2nd Saturday Practice Session
Session over with Ralf Schumacher fastest ahead of Juan Pablo Montoya and Rubens Barrichello. Hakkinen, Coulthard, M Schumacher, Trulli, Frentzen, Panis and Raikkonen make the top 10. 46 min: Coulthard improves but remains in 5th. 45 min: Ralf Schumacher improves again in 1st setting a time of 1:15.355! 44 min: Nick Heidfeld moves into 11th just behind his team-mate. 43 min: The cars start going onto the track however it looks like Michael Schumacher will not complete any laps this session. 42 min: Just 3 minutes remaining and the cars are now preparing for their final run before qualifying! 41 min: Kimi Raikkonen takes 10th from Villeneuve. Montoya on track. 40 min: Michael Schumacher has yet to go out on the track this session. He is currently in 6th from his time in the first session. 39 min: Eddie Irvine in 12th between the 2 Saubers! 38 min: Rubens Barrichello moves into 3rd with a time of 1:15.855. 37 min: Top 10 - R Schumacher, Montoya, Hakkinen, Coulthard, M Schumacher, Trulli, Frentzen, Barrichello, Panis and Villeneuve. 36 min: Coulthard moves into 4th and for the first time sets a time better than his best yesterday. His time was 1:16.279. 35 min: Giancarlo Fisichella jumps from 21st to 13th!. 34 min: Jarno Trulli takes 5th from his team-mate by just over 0.01 seconds. 33 min: Villeneuve improves but remains in 9th place almost half a second slower than his team-mate. 32 min: Frentzen impressive in 5th with a time of 1:16.407. 30 min: Coulthard has not yet managed to match the time he set yesterday. That is strange! 29 min: Not much action at the moment on the track with only a few drivers on the track. 27 min: Jenson Button improves to 19th from 21st. He is 3.143 seconds off the pace. 25 min: Only the 2 Williams' have set times under the 1:16 mark. Hakkinen is 3rd just over the mark. 24 min: Top 10 - R Schumacher, Montoya, Hakkinen, M Schumacher, Barrichello, Panis, Frentzen, Coulthard, Villeneuve and Raikkonen. 23 min: Olivier Panis moves into 6th place ahead of Frentzen! 21 min: Frentzen improves another place to 6th ahead of Coulthard! 20 min: Michael Schumacher has not returned to track since the first practice. He appears to be having problems on his car. 19 min: Ralf Schumacher responds to his team-mate and takes 1st with a time of 1:15.531!. 18 min: Top 10 - Montoya, Hakkinen, M Schumacher, Barrichello, R Schumacher, Coulthard, Frentzen, Villeneuve, Raikkonen and Panis. 16 min: Ralf Schumacher is now on the track to respond! 15 min: Juan Pablo Montoya goes fastest and the first to set a time under the 1:16's 14 min: Rubens Barrichello moves into 3rd sandwiched between the 2 Schumachers. 13 min: Mika Hakkinen goes fastest with a time of 1:16.038 12 min: Frentzen moves into 6th place ahead of Montoya. 10 min: David Coulthard improves his time but remains in 4th place. 9 min: Top 10 - M Schumacher, Hakkinen, R Schumacher, Coulthard, Barrichello, Montoya, Villeneuve, Frentzen, Panis and Heidfeld. 7 min: Mika Hakkinen improves into 2nd place with a time of 1:16.426. That is 0.118 behind Michael Schumacher. 5 min: David Coulthard spins but recovers. Hakkinen on a flyer. 3 min: Luciano Burti is the first to improve, he moves up to 13th. 1 min: A number of cars follow including Ralf Schumacher and the 2 McLarens. Session underway with Tarso Marques the first to go out followed by Giancarlo Fisichella. Session starting at 10:15 AM local time.
