GP - Race Ralf Schumacher wins the Canadian GP ahead of Michael Schumacher and Mika Hakkinen. Kimi Raikkonen, Jean Alesi and Pedro de la Rosa make the top 6. Only 9 cars finish the race. Final Lap: Ralf Schumacher comfortably in the lead as Michael Schumacher is now 23 seconds behind. Lap 67: Jos Verstappen spins and crashes possibly due to a brake problem. de la Rosa is in the points. Lap 67: Ralf Schumacher is now 19 seconds ahead of his brother. Lap 21: With the safety car, the gap the 2 Schumacher's have built to David Coulthard has disappeared. It is still thought that Coulthard is off the pace as he was lapping a lot slower than Michael or Ralf. Lap 20: Jenson Button pits for the 3rd time and retires. Safety car on track. Lap 19: Montoya makes a mistake and hits the wall while Barrichello trying to avoid him crashes and both retire. The safety car is on the track. Lap 18: Trulli in 4th is under a second behind Coulthard. The McLaren seems to lack the expected pace here. Hakkinen is in 9th and not making an impression. Lap 18: Ralf Schumacher sets the fastest lap of the race so far and the gap to Michael is down to 0.4 seconds. Lap 17: Order: M Schumacher, R Schumacher, Coulthard, Trulli, Panis, Verstappen, Raikkonen, Zonta, Hakkinen and Montoya. Barrichello is in 11th place after his spin.
