27 min: Top 10 - M Schumacher, Trulli, Barrichello, Hakkinen, Panis, Coulthard, Frentzen, Raikkonen, R Schumacher, Villeneuve.

26 min: Jarno Trulli jumps to second just 0.261 seconds slower than Michael while Panis improves to 5th.

25 min: It is now Frentzen's turn to take 5th place.

24 min: Mika Hakkinen moves into 3rd while Kimi Raikkonen jumps to 5th!

23 min: Michael Schumacher improves in 1st place with a time of 1:16.188. He is now 0.37 seconds ahead of Barrichello.

21 min: Under 10 minutes to go and Montoya improves to 9th place.

20 min: Barrichello improves in 2nd place now under 0.2 seconds behind Michael.

19 min: Top 10 - M Schumacher, Barrichello, Coulthard, Hakkinen, R Schumacher, Panis, Villeneuve, Trulli, Frentzen, Montoya.

17 min: Olivier Panis moves into 6th while Villeneuve is in 7th.

16 min: Michael Schumacher goes straight to the top of the timesheets with a time of 1:16.371. He is 0.3 seconds ahead of Barrichello.

14 min: Rubens Barrichello moves to 1st while David Coulthard moves to 2nd.

13 min: Top 10 - Hakkinen, Coulthard, Barrichello, Trulli, Frentzen, Alesi, Heidfeld, Verstappen, Raikkonen, Villeneuve.

12 min: Mika Hakkinen moves to first with a time of 1:17.261 closely followed by David Coulthard with a time of 1:17.475.

11 min: Jacques Villeneuve moves into 1st with a time of 1:18.484. He has had a terrible weekend so far qualifying in 12th place.

10 min: Jacques Villeneuve moves into 2nd with a time of 1:18.732 followed by Alonso with a time of 1:19.214.

8 min: Nick Heidfeld is the first to set a timed lap with a time of 1:23.892. He is bettered by Montoya with a time of 1:18.521.

7 min: Several drivers follow while both Verstappen and Coulthard return again to the pits without setting a time.

5 min: Irvine decides to pit without setting a time. Meanwhile Jos Verstappen and David Coulthard are back out.

Ralf Schumacher had a scare yesterday as he faced relegation to the back of the grid when a fuel sample from his car was found to be irregular. Another sample was taken and was given the all clear to start from second position. Session starting in 3 minutes.
