Michael Schumacher dominates the session setting a time that is 0.75 seconds faster than Jarno Trulli in second. Rubens Barrichello, Mika Hakkinen, Ralf Schumacher and Jean Alesi make the top 6. 60 min: Hakkinen improves his time but remains in 4th. 60 min: Final laps ... 59 min: Trulli takes second back with a time of 1:49.404. The Jordan seems competitive here. 58 min: Eddie Irvine moves into 11th place with a time of 1:53.087 57 min: Top 10 - M Schumacher, Barrichello, Trulli, Hakkinen, R Schumacher, Alesi, Raikkonen, Heidfeld, Montoya and Fisichella. 56 min: Barrichello retakes 2nd place from Trulli. He is now 0.8 seconds behind Michael 55 min: Ralf Schumacher takes 5th from Alesi! 54 min: Jean Alesi gets closer to Trulli as he moves into 5th place with a time of 1:51.631 53 min: Montoya moves into 9th with a time 1:53.063. 51 min: Michael Schumacher has covered the most number of laps so far with 15 while Burti has yet to set a time. Coulthard and Villeneuve had spins and are out of the session. 50 min: Michael doesn't improve! 49 min: Trulli moves into second between the 2 Ferrari's. His time was a 1:49.612. That is 0.957 off the pace. Michael on another flyer! 48 min: Trulli on a flyer! 47 min: Fisichella impressive in the Benetton in 8th but that is 4 seconds off the pace. The Ferrari's so far are very dominant! 46 min: Mika Hakkinen improves his time but remains in 3rd. He remains almost 2 seconds off the pace! 44 min: Kimi Raikkonen in his first appearance here is up into 4th place! 42 min: Nick Heidfeld improves his time but remains in 7th. Session underway and Nick Heidfeld is the first man on the track. He is followed by a number of cars. The weather usually plays a crucial role at Spa and this year seems to be no exception. Showers are forecast all through the weekend.
